In many industrial processes, heat is generated that cannot be utilized due to the low temperature level.
An example of this are refrigeration systems, in which heat with a temperature of +25 °C to +35 °C is released into the environment and warms it up. The energy released thus remains unused. ARCTOS Industriekälte AG builds NH3 heat pumps, which elevate the waste heat from production processes and refrigeration systems to a higher temperature level, such as +90 °C, making it available for heating purposes.
The NH3 heat pumps are used for cooling industrial processes and supplying heat simultaneously, with comparatively low electricity consumption.
Due to their significant contribution to emission reduction, NH3 heat pump systems are currently supported by funding measures from the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) and other institutions.
